HOW DOES WAXING HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
Warm wax is spread thinly over the skin in the direction of the hair. Depending on the type of wax used, the wax may be removed directly, or with the use of a cloth strip: taking the hair with it.
IS WAXING PAINFUL?
I searched far and wide for wax that is the most effective, yet gentle wax on the skin. By using quality products and the proper technique, the pain of waxing is significantly minimized. Taking an over the counter pain reliever (Advil or Motrin) and avoiding waxing near your cycle can help to reduce discomfort.
HOW LONG SHOULD ONE'S HAIR BE IN ORDER TO MAKE WAXING EFFECTIVE?
Hair 1/2 - 1/2 an inch is generally needed in order for waxing to be successful. Typically, I suggest not to shave for 2 weeks prior to a waxing session. If hair is too long, it can get in the way. I do not trim at the Skin Cellar. When trimming at home, please use caution on the side of leaving the hair longer. IF THE HAIR IS TOO SHORT, THE WAX WILL NOT ADHERE to the wax, and I will NOT be able to wax you.
HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT, AFTER MY WAXING SERVICE, FOR HAIR TO GROW BACK?
Waxing only removes hair temporarily. It typically takes 2 - 4 weeks for the re-growth of hair in an area that has been waxed. This varies for each person, and there is no time guarantee.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BIKINI AND A BRAZILIAN WAX?
A bikini wax eliminates the hair around the bikini area so that no unruly hairs poke out of a swimsuit or lingerie. A Brazilian wax eliminates all hair in the pubic region with the option of a small strip or triangle.
